A dated kitchen with poor flow had become more of a frustration than the heart of the home. The homeowner wished to have it feel like a warm hug. The room was reconfigured to remove the corner cabinetry and widen the cased opening, creating a more functional footprint. Beige cabinetry makes the room bright without feeling cold, and a hand-scraped hardwood floor with a custom stain warms the home. A one-level island with quartzite countertops and a custom toe-kick makes for a beautiful centerpiece, surrounded by luxurious appliances and ample storage.
