Local Family works with same builder through four building and renovation projects over 12 years.

CAPE CRUSADERS
But there was one more project to come.

Buscone Cape HouseFor years the Buscones had owned a summer vacation cottage on Cape Cod: 800 square feet with one bathroom plus an outside shower.

"We always had eight people there and we actually functioned in it very well," said Greg.

However, in the summer of 2008 the family decided to knock down the aging cottage and build a larger, two-story home on the same foundation. Once again, the choice of builder wasn't in question. Another small but standard touch helped keep the peace with neighbors in the quiet area. "They send a letter to the neighbors – 'We're doing work in your area; if we’re disrupting you or your property, please let us know'," said Megan.

"We’re on a one-lane dirt road with some older retired folks, and they loved being shown that consideration. They couldn’t find anything to complain about" during the construction project, she said. And as they had come to expect, the Buscones had no complaints with the finished product either. "People who visit us there always comment on the quality of the house," she said.

So after all that building, is that it for the Buscones?

If they have any plans for a future move, they aren't letting on. But even if the Buscones are done moving and remodeling, they're still in touch with the Mitchell family on a friendly basis.

And from a pure business standpoint, Mitchell is happy to have had a twelve-year run, encompassing four projects with an enjoyable client.
"It really is a relationship," said Greg. "Everybody else at work has terrible builder stories -- people can’t believe that we still meet with our builder."
